New Delhi: In a significant push towards clean energy self-reliance, the government has identified key solar and green hydrogenGovt Targets Solar, Hydrogen Components to Cut Import Dependence components that will be prioritized for domestic manufacturing. The initiative is aimed at reducing India’s dependence on imported equipment, strengthening local supply chains, and supporting the country’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector.
Boosting India’s Clean Energy Manufacturing
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has prepared a list of critical components used in solar photovoltaic systems and green hydrogen technologies that can be manufactured within the country. Through policy support and industry incentives, the government hopes to encourage greater domestic production, attract fresh investments, and reduce reliance on overseas suppliers.
The initiative is expected to strengthen India’s clean energy ecosystem by making supply chains more resilient while creating new business opportunities and employment across the manufacturing sector. It also complements the country’s broader vision of building an Atmanirbhar Bharat in clean energy and enhancing long-term energy security.
