Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹1.22 lakh crore in Rajasthan’s Banswara district.

One of the most significant announcements was the foundation stone for the ₹42,000-crore Rajasthan Atomic Power Project at Mahi Banswara, which will feature four indigenous 700 MW reactors.

“Our government is transforming the clean energy mission into a people’s movement,” Modi said, highlighting initiatives spanning solar, nuclear, and power transmission systems across multiple states.

The Prime Minister also launched green energy projects worth ₹19,210 crore and transmission works worth ₹13,180 crore under the Renewable Energy Zone initiative, aimed at evacuating over 15 GW of renewable power from Rajasthan.

He flagged off feeder-level solarisation projects valued at ₹16,050 crore under the PM-KUSUM scheme, designed to provide affordable, reliable, and sustainable irrigation power to lakhs of farmers.
