India is steadily positioning itself as a reliable global supplier of green fuels, with significant progress in the production of green hydrogen and green ammonia, according to Renewable Secretary Santosh Kumar Sarangi. Speaking at an industry event, Sarangi highlighted that several green hydrogen projects are advancing toward commercial-scale production, supported by strong policy measures under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. These initiatives aim to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, strengthen energy security, and accelerate transition to a low-carbon economy.

The government is also focusing on building a robust domestic manufacturing ecosystem for electrolyzers and renewable energy equipment while encouraging investments across the green hydrogen value chain. With abundant renewable energy resources, competitive production costs, and growing international partnerships, India is well-positioned to become a major exporter of clean fuels to global markets. The development is expected to create new employment opportunities, attract investments, and reinforce India’s role in the global clean transition.
