The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has set two Guinness World Records during the construction of the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor (NH-544G) in Andhra Pradesh. The records were achieved for laying 28.95 lane-kilometres of roadway and 10,675 metric tonnes of bituminous concrete continuously within a 24-hour period.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced the achievement on Wednesday, stating that the milestone was accomplished on the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada stretch of the economic corridor. The work was executed by private contractor Rajpath Infracon Private Ltd.

Sharing the update on social media platform X, Naidu highlighted that the accomplishment reflected the vision of the Union government and the leadership of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. He added that the record-setting work was carried out in strict adherence to NHAI’s quality standards.

The Chief Minister praised the dedication and coordination of engineers, workers, and field teams involved in the project, noting their exceptional commitment in delivering the feat within the stipulated time. He also conveyed his best wishes to the project teams, as efforts are underway to set two additional Guinness World Records on Packages Two and Three of the economic corridor by January 11 in Andhra Pradesh.
