Concord Control Systems Limited (CCSL) has been awarded a ₹19.45 crore contract for the deployment of its indigenous Kavach 4.0 train collision avoidance system on the South Central Railway. The order, facilitated through its associate Progota India Private Limited, encompasses the design, development, supply, installation, trial, and commissioning of both onboard and trackside Kavach equipment.
This development positions CCSL as a significant player in India’s railway safety sector, highlighting its capability to deliver advanced, domestically developed safety solutions. The Kavach 4.0 system has progressed through Indian Railways’ approval processes, including product approval and initial Safety Integrity Level 4 (SiL4) third-party certification, with approximately 70% of the certification completed. The remaining stages are anticipated to align with forthcoming trials.
With this contract, CCSL becomes one of the few railway companies with a fully developed Kavach system ready for supply to Indian Railways, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of railway safety technologies in India.
