Premier Energies has commissioned a new 7 GW N-type TOPCon G12R solar cell manufacturing facility at Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, taking its total solar cell manufacturing capacity to 10.6 GW — the largest in India.
Spread across 101 acres, the ₹3,293 crore facility has begun trial runs and is designed to produce around 88,000 solar cells per hour.
The digitally enabled plant uses AI, advanced automation and precision manufacturing systems, with average cell efficiency targeted at 25.8% once operations stabilise.
The expansion strengthens Premier Energies’ manufacturing scale and comes as India continues to build domestic capacity for high-efficiency solar products and a more resilient clean-energy supply chain.
