The Goa cabinet on Monday approved seven development projects worth ₹2,500 crore, to be executed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model across the state.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that adopting the PPP mode will enable quicker execution of these projects without requiring direct expenditure from the state’s coffers.

The projects include the redevelopment of the Junta House and Circuit House buildings in Panaji, construction of a new Prashasan Stambh, reconstruction of government quarters at St. Inez, rebuilding of the government garage in Panaji, and development of the Kadamba Transport Corporation’s bus stand in Vasco, South Goa.

National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), a public sector undertaking, will undertake these projects through the PPP framework. Work is expected to commence within the next 10–15 days, according to the Chief Minister.

Sawant added that the state government would have otherwise needed to invest ₹2,500 crore from its own budget to carry out these projects.
