Meerut: Meerut Development Authority (MDA) has appointed REPL (Rudrabhishek Enterprises Limited), to provide consulting services for preparation of vision, implementation strategy and integrated infrastructure plan for Meerut.

Government of Uttar Pradesh, intends to promote Meerut Development Authority area (MDAA) as Global Industrial, Medical and Educational hub and establish the city as an epicenter of economic growth and employment generation. For the same, the integrated infrastructure plan is envisioned to undertake the comprehensive city development and create a blueprint for the same. City development targets for holistic, sustainable and planned development of Meerut.

Mr. Pradeep Misra, CMD-REPL said, “Meerut is one of the fastest growing cities of India with a rich Industrial, agricultural and educational legacy. Proximity to National Capital has accelerated economic growth and development of city in terms of trade & commerce, tourism, agriculture, transportation and infrastructure.  The strategic location of Meerut has made it a business hub and technical education center, which has resulted in influx of population over the years.  The trend needs to be mapped and capacity building of infrastructure is required to address the needs which are going to arise in coming years.

Mr. Satish Sehta (VP – Building Services, REPL) said, “Integrated Infrastructure Plan will include creating an ecosystem for urban development by overhauling city’s Infrastructure and providing opportunities for private sector to develop. REPL would assist MDA in data collection, stakeholder’s consultation, critical demand and gap assessment. Establishing Vision and objectives for development, formulating implementation strategy and preparation of Spatial-Economic development strategy for both Brownfield and Greenfield development will be part of consultancy assignment.”

REPL will also identify the projects of strategic importance in MDAA that need to be developed for comprehensive sustainable development. REPL is already working for Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) and several AMRUT Cities across India including various parts of U.P.
